Water Snake Month May 5 – June 4This month starts with the 2 week “season” called, Coming of Summer” and ends with the season called “Small Sprout”. This is the month when we here in New England can finally plant our small sprouts without the danger of frost and I don’t know about you but coming of summer is music to my ears! The Snake month is the first month of Summer according to the Chinese solar calendar and hopefully by Memorial Day it will be feeling like summer too.
This is a water snake month which is water sitting on top of hidden fire in the snake, elements that clash with one another. Therefore, this could be a month with more heated arguments and disagreements, sometimes truth is needed just use care with your words. The snake is also one of the 4 Traveling animals so with water, which is also the element of travel, this is a great month to take a trip to take advantage of the warmer weather.
The Hexagram for this month is #43 Eliminating. This hexagram is likened to heavy clouds can no longer hold the moisture in the air resulting in a cloudburst that clears the air. In terms of our lives it means releasing some pent up anger or frustration or clearing away tension that may be lingering especially between people. This hexagram also indicates that if you have been suffering or putting up with some kind of injustice then it is time to speak up to eliminate a wrong or unbalanced situation. This is the month to eliminate your hesitation and speak up for what is right.
