Prince’s Fate: Was Death in His Chart?

PrinceOne of the most common questions people ask me with regard to astrology is can you tell when someone is going to die from their chart?  The simple and unequivocal answer is NO, as heaven luck is only one of the factor’s that influence our lives.  A chart CAN tell us however when the energy of a certain time period will be particularly challenging so that we can take the appropriate “Human Luck” actions to safeguard our health and wellbeing.  As they say an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

With Prince’s untimely passing recently, so many have asked, could this be seen in his chart?  Were there any clues? While there are no obvious signs of death, a careful and thorough read of his BaZi birth chart can help us understand why this year was so challenging to him and can help to explain why he was so vulnerable at this time.

A fellow congregation member of Princes was quoted as saying “my observation is: He had to have his creative outlet. Maybe he just needed it to survive.” This statement is pretty close to the mark in terms of identifying the pattern of his chart and his life and key to understanding why this year in particular brought death for him.

First here are some of his most notable traits which can easily be seen in his chart above:

Prince was a Yi Mao or Yin Wood Rabbit day person. Yin wood is known one of the most attractive of the 10 day master elements and certainly Prince displayed this quality to the maximum.  Yin wood also has the quality of being highly creative, adaptive and capable of flexibility and transformation and Price certainly displayed these qualities in his flexible dance moves and ever evolving style.

Yin wood sitting on more Yin Wood of the Rabbit shows that he was also a person who stands strong in his personal beliefs and is not easily swayed by the opinion of others. Again this is a hallmark quality of his as a trend setter and one who set the standard rather than following the standards of others. He also stood firm in his religious and political convictions.   I have also heard it said that those with Rabbit in their charts are good dancers, again, so true in this case!

Prince was also known for his sex appeal which is also not surprising given that 3 of the 4 animals in his chart are what we call “Peach Blossom” animals or animals that give one more appeal and like-ability – especially toward those of the opposite sex!  One can have too much of a good thing as having that many Peach Blossom stars in one chart can bring problems. In Prince’s case there is some indication that his peach blossom sex appeal may have caused him to contract HIV and subsequently AIDS, though I must state that this is still a rumor that has yet to be officially confirmed.

While he certainly did not lack romantic attention he was not able to achieve a lasting relationship and this is not surprising given the clash on his rabbit spouse palace by the rooster in his hour pillar.  A clash on one’s spouse palace often causes instability and break-ups making long term relationships and marriages more challenging.

Many have been surprised to learn of Prince’s many charitable and philanthropic works that he carried out anonymously and mostly in secret.  However according to his Qi Men Dun Jia Destiny Chart, Prince’s Guardian of Destiny is the Chief whose main objective is to protect and serve humanity and those who have this deity are generally inclined to have a positive moral compass.  Knowing this, his compassion and generosity towards others is a natural expression of this aspect of his chart and personality.

The main pattern of his chart and his life though is obviously his amazing gift as an artist and this can   be easily seen by the strong fire, which is the output or creativity element, in his chart.  The fire in the horse month also combines with the Dog to create a Fire semi-trio which amplifies this creativity and expression.

What is not readily apparent, and takes a deeper level of reading to tease out, is an invisible pillar that describes him at a soul level and also adds more divine or heavenly fuel to his creative fire so to speak.  His “Spirit Chamber” and his “Invisible God” are both in a hidden Tiger which is both who he is on a soul level and also what gives tremendous power to his art.  It means that his soul is one with his art and that heavenly power is what made him so outstanding, special and rare.  This invisible power, like a strong wind or good wifi signal, behaves like many things we cannot see but we can discern its presence by the effects it produces. No question that his amazing talent was fueled by something extraordinary in this case his extraordinary soul and a heavenly bestowed talent.

So why did he pass now you may ask. Well to begin with he entered a completely watery luck cycle at age 50 which countered this fire pattern in his chart – when a pattern of a chart is lost it can bring bad outcomes including death.

Additionally the Rooster which is a dangerous element, called 7 killings, in his chart and represents risk taking and reckless behavior and had kept in check by the fire elemtent in his chart previously.  With the fire damaged by water during this luck cycle this dangerous element had the power to destroy him through reckless behavior as drug use has been reported as a contributing factor to his death.

It was the Monkey of this year however that dealt the final blow by clashing on this special invisible Tiger Pillar.  The clash on this invisible Tiger destroyed him at a soul level and also took the special power that fueled his creative genius, which as his friend said was who he was and his reason for being.

Sadly it appears that yes, he needed this creative outlet to survive.  We have lost another bright light this year but part of that extraordinary soul shall live on in his music and through the many lives he touched over the years.
