Month of the Earth Monkey and Exciting News!

DSC_0757

Did you know that you are more likely to move in a year or a month that clashes your chart?  That’s because clashes bring change are often the catalyst that propels us in a new direction.

This monkey month, which is my clash month, is bringing big changes for me both personally and professionally. I am very excited to announce that I have taken a position as a design associate at an interior design firm in Lenox, MA and am buying an historic home in the beautiful Berkshires! Moving to the country and renovating an antique home have long been dreams of mine and I am so happy to see these wishes fulfilled at this time in my life. One of the perks of my new job is that it will allow me to incorporate Feng Shui into the work our firm does, and to continue my independent Feng Shui and Chinese Metaphysics consulting practice. As my entire office and library are in boxes, I will resume my Chinese Metaphysics work in the month of the Rooster once I am settled.

Whether, like me, you find yourself moving this month or not, change is upon us all now and a new cycle is about to begin! We have been in a period of time dominated by the Fire element, which brings change and transformation, since the Snake year in 2013. This month is a major turning point as this long period of fire is coming to a close and a period dominated by Earth element begins to make its presence known with the start of this month. Chances are if you look back at your life from 2013 until now you will see that is has been a time of personal growth and transformation – it certainly has been for me!

The energy of Earth, which is the dominant element this month, is about stability and security. Yang Earth is strong and steady, like a mountain. Earth is also the element of productivity and nurturing, so we can expect to see less volatility overall and hopefully a kinder, gentler energy around us as we move toward the end of the Fire Rooster year.

The I Ching hexagram for this month is #59 called Dispersing. The imagery of this hexagram is wind over the water and is likened to a persistent and gentle breeze which over time can even melt an iceberg. It is about wearing away hard attitudes or rigidity, and softening one’s heart. Much like a persistent suitor who wins over the heart of his beloved over time, this hexagram tells us to be consistent and gentle when trying to penetrate the hearts and minds of those who may not see eye to eye with us. Be patient, be persistent, be gentle.

Important Dates:
Wood Earth Monkey Month August 7 –  September 7

IMPORTANT DATES:

Tiger People: This is your clash month so use caution in general especially on Monkey days which are  August 13, 25 & September 6 as the clash energy is doubled up on these days.

I am taking a different approach to dates this month by giving you the best and worst of the month. Of course because we live in a Space – Time continuum date selection is the key to unlocking the energy potential in your space with Feng Shui. The best results come when you use a date that also ties YOU to your space: Heaven – Man – Earth connect!

*If you have an important event like a wedding or business launch to plan it is best to have a personalized date selection analysis to ensure the best outcome.

INAUSPICIOUS DATE:

August 14, Water Rooster or Gui You day (Clash to Rabbit People) A negative star and Remove day, the energy of this day is shifting and unstable and affected by several varieties of Sha or noxious Chi. Do not plan important activities on this day.

AUSPICIOUS DATES:

August 23, Water Horse or Ren Wu day (Clash to Rat People)
A Three Star, Open Day, great for grand openings, open houses, also great for wealth and receiving help from noblemen.

August 29, Earth Rat or Wu Zi day (Clash to Horse People)
A Two Star, Stable Day, a great day to undertake activities which will have long term implications and when you want to have happy and long lasting effects. Great for Marriages, moving house, renovations, signing contracts. Especially beneficial for Rat, Dragon and Monkey people as you combine with the day and the month!

FENG SHUI:

Northeast: This month the negative 5 yellow is visiting this otherwise auspicious sector. If your home faces Southwest and thereby sitting Northeast, you could see issues affecting the household overall. This is a good month to skip renovations in general especially in the NE sector of your home.

East: This sector is a very positive one all year because the current Wealth Star or #8 Star resides here. This month this sector will get a powerful boost from the #9 star bringing happy events and blessings – a great sector for a bedroom and if you have a door here use it often!

Feng Shui was of course used extensively in the selection of my new home in the Berkshires. I look forward to sharing more about that process including tips you can use for your own house hunting later this fall.
