Month of the Fire Tiger
February 4 – March 5
Happy New Year! Today is the first day of the Fire Tiger month and the first day of the Year of the Pig which arrives at 11:16 am today.
The imagery of the Fire Tiger pillar is of the bright sun shining on the trees of the forest, giving light and life. We have reached the mid point between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox and it is the first day of Spring in the Chinese Solar calendar. Yang energy which is the sun is growing; days are getting longer and warmer weather is on its way. It’s time to sew the seeds of our plans and aspirations for this year and tap into the energy that the new year offers to see those plans bear fruit.
The hexagram for this month is #37 called Family or Household. It’s a very timely hexagram as millions of families around the world travel to spend time with family and loved ones to celebrate the Chinese New Year. This hexagram is a reminder to make time for family and loved ones this month, reach out and reconnect. This hexagram also reminds us that to have a harmonious household it is important for each person to do their part. It’s a good month to evaluate the dynamics at home to see what is working and what is not and take steps to create a more supportive structure of responsibilities and care. It’s a good month foster more cooperation and to cultivate sincerity and mutual love.
