Wood Goat Month  July 7  – August 6

Last month the Wood Horse brought back issues from 2014 for review and this month the Wood Goat will be bringing to our awareness issues from 2015. It’s like deja vue all over again.  We will likely find ourselves re-examining and re-evaluating what happened or didn’t happen last year and if we don’t, it is likely that some of those things will be brought to our attention.  This is a good month to look at what you did or did not accomplish in 2015 take stock of where you were then, where you are now and ask yourself how you want to move forward.

The Goat month is actually the last month of summer in the Chinese solar calendar.  The Goat is an Earth element animal with hidden elements of Yin Fire, Yin Earth and Yin Wood.  These elements give us imagery of hot, parched summer soil with small plants or crops thirsting for rain.  This image is quite relatable even in this day and age as this is the month when we need to water more to keep the garden plants and grass alive.  The Goat month starts with the 2 week “season” called, “Lesser Heat” and ends with the season called “Greater Heat”.   This seeming disorder of mini seasons is also quite relatable, at least here in New England, where the last week of July into August is usually the hottest part of the summer even though we have now entered into the yin part of the year with daylight hours growing shorter.

The Hexagram for this month is #48 Jing or Well.  The Well Hexagram is about replenishing as the well is a source of water which nourishes life.  The well is not just about replenishing our bodies but it is also a metaphor for returning to our source and tending to our spirits as well.  It tells us that we are like the the hot parched plants of summer who are thirsting for a respite from the burn-out of our busy lives.  This hexagram is a signal to take time out to re-fill our own cups, find our center and connect to a higher source.  The energy this month supports rejuvination so if you don’t have a vacation planned make sure to schedule some time to replenish your energy, whether it is a long languorous walk, a swim after work or setting aside some special time for meditation and reflection.

Important Dates

Ox People: this is your clash month so use caution, especially on Goat days which are July 12 & 24.

INAUSPICIOUS DATES:
Here are the days that are generally inauspicious for everyone, these are days to use caution and not good for important events or activities.

Month Breaker:  July  18 & 30th, days of caution for all. (Clash to Goat people)
Year Breaker:  July 7, 19 & 31, use caution in general.  (Clash to Monkey people)

AUSPICIOUS DATES:
These are the days that are generally lucky for everyone, except those who clash with it, and great days to plan important activities.

Success Days: July 8 & 20 Success days generally bring good outcomes for all endeavors except for legal activity.  (Clash to Rooster people)
Remove Days:  July 13 & 25th These are good days to let go of what no longer serves you and to remove obstacles. As always these are great days to do some de-cluttering or getting rid of what is weighing you down.  When cleaning out think about paying it forward by listing on a site like freecycle.org because what you don’t need could be just what someone else is looking for. (Clash to Tiger people)
Initiate Days:  July 17 & 29. Initiate days are good for starting new things and beginning new projects – a day to start off on the right foot so to speak. (Clash to Horse people)

Feng Shui

In General:  Hopefully the warm weather will find you outdoors more than indoors as nature is the best way to find replenishment of both body and soul.  If you do find yourself indoors here are some areas to pay closer attention to this month.

Southeast:  While this sector is quite positive all year this month the negative 5 yellow is here which means you may encounter some problems if you spend a lot of time in this area.  If you can avoid this area or use it less this month that would be ideal.  For example if your main door is there use another, if your office is here try to use a laptop and work in another location especially the South for this month.

East: This sector has the #4 star which is peach blossom luck this month.  If your goal is making connections with people, especially those of the opposite sex, then this is the are of your home to spend as much time as possible this month.  The 4 star also supports learning and education so if you are taking a summer course this is a good area to read or study in.

South: This sector has a very auspicious 1-6 combination this month which is good for learning, wealth creation and career advancement. If you want to give your career a boost then this is a good area to occupy.
