Month of the Metal Rooster
September 8 – October 7
Mirror mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all? The Metal Rooster of course!
This month’s pillar is Yin metal, the Star of Venus, doubled as though Venus herself were looking in a mirror. This pillar brings beauty, elegance, refinement, allure and glamour to this month. It can also bring the shadow aspect of this exacting and sometimes critical pillar resembling the jealous Evil Queen who is more intent on comparing and competing. A double edged sword or pair of scissors as it were, this pillar shows that there is a fine line between confident beauty and narcissistic envy – a good month to keep the ego in check.
The beauty and charm of this pillar, so perfectly exemplified by Metal Roosters Day pillar folks like Gwyneth Paltrow and Princess Grace, is the perfect ingredient to give this Peach Blossom month some sparkle. If your Day pillar contains the Monkey, Rat or Dragon you will have that je ne sais quoi, and a greater ability to attract admirers whether they be in the business world or on the romantic scene. This is not a month to sit home – make sure you are out and about to let yourself shine and draw new opportunities to you! Not sure what’s in your chart? Look it up here:

While this month offers support by way of Peach Blossom attraction it also brings a fair amount of upheaval as this Rooster month clashes with the Rabbit year. This clash could bring both challenges as well as changes globally which could result in volatility and conflict.
Wood and metal clashes as experienced between the Rooster and the Rabbit are more physical in nature and can signal injury and accidents. Those who have a Rabbit pillar in their chart, particularly if it is in your day pillar, should take care this month as you are a bit more accident prone. If you have a Rabbit anywhere in your chart, it is also a change agent month for you personally making this an ideal month to set changes you wish to make into motion. My advice is that it is far better to chose your changes rather than wait to see what the universe might bring!
The hexagram this month offers great advice for navigating a clash month such as this where the instability in the world at large may prove challenging to navigate. This month’s hexagram is #62 Lesser Exceeding is comprised of the Thunder trigram over the Mountain trigram. Thunder a signaling danger and the Mountain cautioning stillness. As the ancient texts state ‘a little bird leaves a message not appropriate to ascend, appropriate to descend’. In other words, when times are uncertain, it is better to be conservative and not stick one’s neck out. In navigating this clash month and setting changes into motion, small achievable steps with a measured approach will bring better outcomes than taking big risks. This is a great month to keep a low profile while moving forward with your plans.
2024 is quickly approaching, and I am excited to announce several new events for the powerful spiritual Wood Dragon year!
