Fire Monkey Month September 7 – October 7
After the Horse and Goat months in which we reviewed the energy of recent years, and the Monkey month that brought into laser focus the energy of the current year, this month we make a shift and begin to look forward. In many ways, this month ushers in a change of energy that propels us forward and looks ahead.
First of all, this Fire Rooster month is the same energy as that of the coming year. If you want a taste of what next year may be like for you then pay attention and be aware this month as you can spot some trends for next year a bit earlier and stay ahead of the curve. Not only does this month give us a taste of the coming year, it is also the time when the Fire Rooster year begins to ascend and starts to creep into the current year. There is no point at which one year ends and another begins, but a rather there is gradual overlap in which the energy of the current year fades and the energy of the new year moves in gaining force and now is when that shift occurs.
This month also begins a transition period in a larger scale as well; that of the 180 Year Great Cycle. While our current Period 8 will not end until 2024, this is the month when the coming 20 year cycle of Period 9 begins to ascend and make its presence known. Period 8 is an earth element period and one of propsperity and stability. Period 9 however, is the element of fire, one of the most volatile elements, and it will bring great changes and transformation for both humanity and for the Earth itself.
People of many metaphysical traditions have been saying that we are in a time of global change and a speeding up of time. The Chinese Metaphysical system is not only in agreement with this, but also gives us a definite timeline for these changes. By observing the Chinese calendar system we can see that the coming year’s ascension point has been arriving a month earlier each year and will continue to for a few years as we move rapidly into Period 9. While huge global shifts and changes can be unsettling, the good news is that these changes will bring better things, and we will see them realized when the Great 180 Year Cycle begins again with Period 1 in 2044.
The hexagram this year is #40 Relief, which tells us that sometimes we must go through the forging fire to get the relief that we are seeking. Or in other words, things may get worse before they get better, but rest assured they will get better.
The hexagram for this month is #31 Mutual Influence, which is about mutual attraction or mutual love. This hexagram is quite fitting for this month since the Rooster is also one of the Peach Blossom or romance star animals. Of course peach blossom is not just about romantic relationships but also about likability in general and good for relationship building of all kinds. This month, relief comes from our cultivation of relationships, and the give and take necessary for healthy, rewarding connections with others. If it is your business you are most concerned about, then this is a month to network and strengthen your connections not just by looking for what others can do for you, but by showing them what you can do for them as well. It also tells us that in the pursuit of our careers we should not neglect our most important relationships. This hexagram reminds us to make time to be there for those who are always there for us. These are the days that are generally lucky for everyone, except those who clash with it. These are great days to plan important events or activities.
Success Days: September 8, 20 and October 2 – Success days generally bring good outcomes for all endeavors except for legal activity. (Clash to Pig people)
Remove Days: September 13 & 25 – These are good days to let go of what no longer serves you and to just let it go. Remove days are also good days to to let him or her go, and therefore suitable break-up days as well (Clash to Dragon people).
