Month of the Wood Pig

The imagery of the Wood Pig is of the lotus blossom. A delicate flower floating above its roots set deep in the water.
Spiritually speaking, the lotus flower is symbolic of being firmly rooted in the mud of this world but cultivating our consciousness, like the lotus blossom to rise above the mundane to a higher plane of thought and awareness.
This is a very helpful image, one that encourages us to rise above challenges and difficulty of day to day life to gain a higher perspective. It encourages us to aspire toward higher ideals and to gain a broader view of our life’s purpose. It is also a hopeful image that shows us that we needn’t be bogged down by the challenges of life, instead we can rise above them and bloom.
This Pig month in a Pig year may prove to be intense for some, particularly those who have a Snake in their chart as the clash between these two zodiac signs is doubled and intensified. This could be the month when the straw breaks the camel’s back as it were. When the energy seems to overwhelm you remember the image of the lotus flower and rise above the challenges around you, they are temporary, you are eternal.

The hexagram for this month is #35 Advancementor Proceeding Forward. This is an extremely positive hexagram as the imagery of Fire over Earth is that of the rising sun. It is symbolic of light returning after a time of darkness and represents the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel. This hexagram heralds positive energy and forward momentum. Advancement encourages us to rise up and move forward to take action on our plans and goals. There are only a few months left of this year so make them count.
