The month of the water Dog begins on Monday rounding out the autumn season and ushering in several strong water months as we begin to move into the winter season.
When I hear Water Dog my mind instantly goes to my sweet dog Coco who we lost this year. One because few dogs loved the water more than she did, and two because this month would have been her 10th birthday. She was an energetic, high intensity dog – not unlike the energy of this dog month!
This is a Dog month in a Dog year, doubling of dog energy and the month when the full power of the Dog is realized. The Water Dog is an intense pillar composed of yang water like the ocean and yang earth like a mountain; both containing immense power and force. This month brings such power and intensity to all areas of life. On a global level, more earthquakes and natural disasters are likely.
On a personal level, those with Ox and or Goat in their chart may experience an intensification of the ‘Bully Punishment’ that has been having an effect all year. A ‘Bully Punishment’ occurs when Ox-Dog-Goat get together, you could be on the receiving end of bullying or doing the bullying yourself. If you have been on the receiving end it may be the month where you say enough is enough, shore up your boundaries, and push back. Be mindful of your interactions with others, take care with your words and tread carefully.
On the positive side, Ox and Goat are 2 of the annual 4 Nobles this year. So, if you have these animals in your chart you also have built in solutions and any troubles you encounter can be overcome through helpful people.

What happens when 2 dogs get together? Observing my dog Coco taught me a lot about dog interaction. Dogs are pack animals, being a lone wolf makes a dog an exception not the rule. Most of the time when dogs gather there is play and fun and excitement. Of course dog fights are always a possibility so one must be aware of tension brewing and watch for signs of trouble. This month be wary of tension below the surface as bullying may turn into a dog fight and you may wish to stay out of the fray.
This month look beyond yourself and focus on your interactions with others, explore the dynamics of your pack, and community. It’s a good time to make sure you are not a lone wolf, seek out others who may be lonely, strengthen relationships in your social group and with your family.
The hexagram this month is #45 Gathering. The imagery of this hexagram is lake over earth, it describes a place where water pools and gathers. In this hexagram, the metaphor is usually applied to people gathering and community. Again the hexagram this month brings our attention to the people and relationships around us, and tells us that now is a time to focus outward on strengthening bonds and sharing our time with others. So make time to spend with friend and loved ones, or reach out and meet new people, join new groups, and get involved in your community.
TIMING:
Dragon people you are clashed by both the year and the month. You may feel under more pressure and see more changes coming your way. However, changes can be good and if you have been stuck it could be a month to make a positive breakthrough so ride the waves and see where they take you.

This date carries quite a bit of negative energy and a partial bully punishment as well. Avoid any important activities on this day and watch your interactions with others.

This is an extremely positive day that brings success and positive outcomes to most activities and plans. Any undertaking begun on this date will have smooth sailing and good results along the way.
FENG SHUI:
The worst sector this month is the North:. The volatile 5 yellow yearly star is being visited by the 2 star which still carries risk of illness. One should avoid sleeping in this sector this month especially if you are already ill or weak.
The best sector this month is the South: This year the south has what we call ‘Peach Blossom’ or the energy of like-ability and this month it is getting a big boost. If you want to be seen and noticed this is the sector to spend as much time in as possible. Sleeping and working here will help others notice all that you have to offer!
