My favorite things in life don’t cost money.
It’s really clear that the most precious resource we all have is time.

The month of the Goat brings us to the final month of the summer season and begins to transition us to the autumn season. While we are still in the season of Fire, the element of Earth becomes a powerful force this month. The quality of Earth this month however is parched earth, dried from the intensity of the sun during this fiery season. In this Fire Horse year, whose birth chart is devoid of water, the likelihood of drought stricken land is even more likely than in other years. While this may show up literally in your environment, chances are you many will be feeling rather dried up metaphorically as well due to the intensity of this year.
The image of the Wood Goat is of a small tenacious plant that finds a way not only to survive but to bloom in the harsh conditions of an arid environment – the proverbial desert rose. It is the plant whose roots run so deep that it is able to avoid succumbing to the adversity of its climate. This imagery offers encouragement for us all to sink our own roots deeper and to reach for the reserves which can sustain and support you in times of challenge and adversity.
One beneficial support to reach for when you are feeling worn down are your Nobleman. Luckily the Goat is the Nobleman Zodiac sign for three Day Master folks, Jia or Yang Wood, Wu or Yang Earth, and Geng Yang Metal. Xin or Yin Metal folks can also seek out Nobleman as the Horse Zodiac sign is bringing support to you all year. Of course in order to activate your own Nobleman Zodiac star requires seeking out and asking for what you need. Look for helping people and helping professions when you feel your reserves depleted. Not sure what your Day Master element is? Look it up here.
The I Ching hexagram for this month #48, called Source or The Well also encourages seeking refreshment when your cup is empty. This hexagram is comprised of Water Trigram above Wood Trigram below which evokes the image a wooden bucket being lowered into a well to draw the water up. I chose the word Source for this hexagram as is the French word for a water spring and it can also refer the spiritual power of the Creator of the universe as the source of all life on Earth. The message in the imagery of this hexagram encourages one seek out sources of refreshment and sustainment. Of course in heat of the Goat month that might literally look like seeking sources of water to cool off or to quench thirst. The message of this hexagram is most often applied metaphorically by seeking resources that can feed the soul and spirit like seeking rest and respite, or by making time for reflection or meditation. Of course going to a well and lowering the bucket are both proactive and require effort. The advice here is not to wait for these resources to land in your lap but to actively seek out the resources which feed rather than deplete and to gather those things to you now.
The Goat month will also bring us to the completion of the first half of the Fire Horse year, with six intense months remaining ahead of us. Like the Desert Rose it may feel like we too are walking in the proverbial desert and feeling emotionally parched from the heated nature of this year. It is so important to take good care and avail yourself of as many resources to stay grounded and balanced as you need during these times of great change and upheaval.
I too have been harnessing this change agent year to recalibrate and refresh my approach to my work. As I have continued my trainings and acquired new tools, the canopy of my work has broadened to include new modalities and approaches. As I have evolved and expanded, the scope of my work now also reflects this growth with an updated look to more accurately reflect all that I offer, and most excitingly a new service. I am so pleased to be able to offer Shamanic Energy Therapy sessions based on three years of training in Celtic Shamanism that I am now certified to offer. These one-on-one sessions can bring you on a journey inward to release whatever is holding you back from living your life to its fullest. The way of nature is unchanging.
Knowing constancy is insight.”
