After spending 7 weeks traveling through India and Nepal this summer, heading to Asia again was the last thing I imagined doing last month but sometimes fate has a way of intervening when we least expect it.
When I went to hear Joey Yap speak in New York in October not only did I receive great forecast information for next year, but also an incredible opportunity to study Feng Shui at his Mastery Academy of Chinese Metaphysics in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Of course I jumped at the chance!
Studying in Malaysia gave me a unique opportunity to gain a depth of knowledge in Feng Shui that is not readily available here in the U.S. I now see how the formulas and methods used by most practitioners fit into the bigger picture – and that picture is pretty big!
The focus of the training was on Dragons or mountain ranges, and how to read the land to know where the Qi is going and collecting, what the quality of the Qi is, and how it affects a larger area and in turn individual spaces. In other words, true Geomancy. This reading of the landforms is the origin of Feng Shui and relates to my training in Earth Energies and Water Dowsing in a very synergistic and satisfying way.
In addition to reading the Dragons, we got to see how this knowledge is applied in practical terms by visiting large development sites that Joey Yap is currently involved with. Not only was it useful to see Feng Shui applied in ‘real life’ but it was even more exciting to be in a place where this knowledge is valued because it gets results. I hope that by bringing this knowledge back it will become more widely used and valued here in the U.S. as well!
Below are a few photos from our on-site field training where we examined the the dragons and how they affect the Feng Shui of the surrounding areas. Enjoy!
