Good Feng Shui makes sure our environment supports us and our goals.
Starting this February, I will be giving you a monthly forecast based on many disciplines in Chinese Metaphysics so you can make your game plan.
Metal Tiger Month February 4 – March 5:
The first month of the Chinese year is always a Tiger Month. This month is a Metal Tiger month which is a direct clash with the Fire Monkey year. Fire and Metal clash on top and the Monkey and Tiger clash on the bottom – not a good mix. This clash could bring instability and this uncertainty in the world at large could create anxiety for many people. In times of instability and uncertainly it is important not allow ourselves to give into fear and retreat and contract. This month our strategy should be to do those things both for ourselves and in our spaces which bring us stability and a calm. Personal daily practices like meditation or yoga which helps us stay grounded and centered are very important to continue or cultivate.
There is a new I Ching Hexagram for the year which is #40 called Relief. In the Wen order, this Hexagram follows the hexagram Hardship, it is like the sun coming out after the storm and marks the end of hardship and obstruction. This is a wonderfully positive hexagram and offers the promise of hope in what may be a challenging year for many. The Relief hexagram heralds the solution to problems and a deliverance from hardship as well as the alleviation of anxiety and distress. It tells us that no matter the problem there is always a solution and that despite appearances, no storm lasts forever so take heart.
The Hexagram for this month is #30 which is made of the trigrams for fire over fire and is called Brightness. Since fire must cling to the object it is burning it is also called Clinging. This is generally regarded as a very positive hexagram because it signifies the brightness of the risen sun and smooth sailing. This hexagram tells us that when times are dark people should cling to one another and that this will make things better or brighter. When read with the yearly hexagram the message is that our relief and the solution to our problems lies in working with and obtaining support from the people in our lives. So, if things get rough this month be sure to reach out to loved ones, form alliances and partnerships and extend your help to others as well, in this lies good fortune.
